Medication refill requests
Routine refills are processed within 48 hours during clinic hours. Request when you have about a week left — not on your last pill.
1. Send the request
Through the client portal, or by calling the front desk. Include the medication, dose, days remaining and your pharmacy.
2. We review it
Your prescriber checks the chart — last visit, labs where relevant, and whether anything has changed. Routine requests: within 48 hours.
3. It reaches your pharmacy
Sent electronically. You will be contacted if a visit is needed first, or if the request needs a conversation.
Controlled substances work differently
Controlled medications cannot be refilled on request the way an antidepressant can. They require an active prescribing relationship with a visit at least monthly, and each prescription is written for a limited supply with no automatic refills attached.
If your last visit has lapsed, the answer to a refill request will be to schedule rather than to send the prescription — so book before you get low, not after. A telehealth visit satisfies the monthly requirement in most cases.
Lyte does not provide ADHD evaluation or treatment, and does not prescribe stimulant medication. ADHD education resources are here.

Refill questions
How long does a refill take?
Routine refill requests are processed within 48 hours during clinic hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT). A request sent late on Friday is handled the following week, so give yourself a buffer.
How much notice should I give?
Request when you have about a week of medication left. That absorbs a pharmacy stock problem, a prior authorisation, or a holiday without you missing doses.
What is different about controlled substances?
Controlled substances cannot be refilled on request in the same way. They require an active prescribing relationship with a visit at least monthly, and each prescription is written for a limited supply with no automatic refills. If your last visit has lapsed, the answer will be to schedule rather than to send the prescription — book before you run low.
Can I get a refill if I have missed appointments?
A short bridging supply is sometimes possible while you get back on the schedule, at the prescriber's discretion, and it is not automatic. Prescribing without seeing you is not safe indefinitely. Book an appointment at the same time you make the request.
Can I email or text my refill request?
No. Email and text are not secure channels for health information. Send the request through the portal, or call the front desk. The builder on this page formats the request in your browser so you can paste it into a portal message.
My pharmacy says they have not received it
Check the pharmacy name and location on file first — a chain with several branches nearby is the usual culprit. If it has been more than two business days since we confirmed sending it, call us and we will re-transmit.
I am out of medication right now
Call the clinic rather than sending a message. Stopping some psychiatric medications abruptly causes withdrawal effects and, for some, a return of symptoms. If you cannot reach us and you are unwell, contact your pharmacy about an emergency supply or seek urgent care. Call or text 988 if you are in crisis.
Questions the portal cannot answer? Call 469-733-0848 during clinic hours. In a crisis, call or text 988; in an emergency, call 911.
