For Physicians, Therapists, Schools & Employers
Refer a patient
Psychiatric evaluation and medication management for patients age 6+. In person in Dallas–Fort Worth and by telehealth across Texas.
What referring to Lyte gets your patient
No contract, no portal login, no minimum volume.
Same-week access
Most referred patients are seen within 1–2 business days, and urgent same-day slots are held daily. Mark a referral urgent and the front desk calls you back the same day.
Expedited scheduling for referred patients
Referrals go into a separate queue rather than the general waitlist. Your patient is contacted directly to schedule, not left to call us themselves.
Coordinated care, not a handoff
With patient consent you receive an evaluation summary after the first visit and an update at each medication change. You keep the primary-care or therapeutic relationship; we handle the psychiatric piece.
In-network with major plans
BCBS, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, Tricare and Medicare. Benefits are verified before the first appointment, and self-pay rates are published so uninsured patients know the price up front.
One practice, in person and online
In-person at the Pantego clinic in DFW, or by telehealth anywhere in Texas — same clinicians, same record. Patients who move within the state keep their prescriber.
Mental-health education for your team
We build short, practical sessions for staff, students or employees on request — recognising depression and anxiety, when to escalate, how to talk to someone who is struggling. No cost, no sales pitch.
Who refers to us
Primary care
Hand off the psychiatric complexity and keep the patient. Treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, complex medication regimens, and patients whose second or third antidepressant has not worked. You get an evaluation summary after the first visit and updates at each change.
Pediatrics & schools
Psychiatric evaluation and medication management for patients ages 6 and up. Dr. Akintola is dual board-certified in adult and child/adolescent psychiatry. We work alongside school counselors and can provide clinical documentation for disability services and 504 planning; the accommodation decision remains the district’s. Telehealth fits around the school day and parents stay informed for minors.
OB/GYN & midwifery — perinatal
Perinatal and postpartum mental health is a core specialty, and it is the referral we prioritise hardest — a positive EPDS should not wait three weeks. Fast placement for postpartum depression and anxiety, medication guidance in pregnancy and lactation, and coordination with your prenatal plan. Point patients at the free EPDS screener if it helps start the conversation.
Universities & college counseling centers
When a student needs a prescriber, or the session cap has been reached, we take the referral rather than the case. Same-week telehealth from a dorm room, no session limits, and continuity through breaks and summers. Campus-specific guides cover wait times and how care continues between semesters, and student mental health explains our approach.
EAP & employers
In-network care employees will actually use: most insured patients pay $0–$30 (see published rates), seen within 1–2 business days, and video visits that fit a workday. We can set up a direct scheduling path for your EAP so employees are not bounced through a directory.
VA Community Care
Lyte accepts VA Community Care Network referrals where the veteran is eligible — eligibility depends on their VA facility, drive time and wait-time standards, so call and we will check before anyone is scheduled. Veteran mental health covers combat PTSD, moral injury, TBI-related mood changes, and co-occurring substance use. For veterans who are uninsured or out of network, self-pay rates are published.
Community organizations & wellness programs
Faith communities, nonprofits, recovery programs, senior centers and wellness initiatives refer regularly. We take referrals for people who are uninsured — with published self-pay rates and a limited number of reduced-rate slots — and can run a mental-health education session for your staff or volunteers at no cost. Spanish-language care is available; see our Spanish resources.

How quickly are referred patients seen?
Most referred patients are seen within 1–2 business days, in person in the Dallas–Fort Worth area or by telehealth anywhere in Texas. Urgent same-day slots are held daily — mark the referral urgent and call.
How should I send patient information?
By fax to 469-868-2929 or by phone at 469-733-0848. Lyte does not accept patient information by email or through a web form, because neither is a secure channel for protected health information. The referral builder on this page assembles the referral in your browser so you can fax or paste it — nothing is transmitted from the page itself.
Do you need a signed release before you contact my patient?
No release is needed for us to contact the patient to schedule, provided they have consented to the referral. A signed release is needed before we send clinical information back to you, and our front desk handles that at intake.
What ages and conditions do you take?
Ages 6 and up, for psychiatric evaluation and medication management across depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, perinatal mental health, psychosis, substance use and cognitive concerns in older adults. Lyte does not provide inpatient care, crisis stabilisation, detox, eating-disorder programmes or ADHD evaluation and treatment.
Will I get an update after the visit?
Yes. With patient consent, an evaluation summary goes back to the referring provider after the first visit, with further updates at medication changes. Tell us your preferred channel and we will use it.
Do I need a partnership agreement to refer?
No. Anyone can send a single referral today with no paperwork. If you refer regularly, a short setup call establishes dedicated fax routing, a named contact and agreed turnaround times — still no contract required.
