Is an IV infusion a treatment for depression or anxiety?
No. Lyte offers nutrient and hydration infusions as a complement to psychiatric care, not as a treatment for any psychiatric condition. Depression and anxiety are treated with evaluation, medication where appropriate, and therapy. If symptoms are what brought you here, start with an evaluation.
Do you offer ketamine or esketamine infusions?
No. Lyte Psychiatry does not provide ketamine, esketamine (Spravato), TMS or any other interventional psychiatric treatment. The infusions described on this page are vitamin, mineral, amino-acid and hydration formulations only.
Do I need a consultation before an infusion?
Yes, always. The consultation reviews your medical history, current medications, kidney and heart function and allergy history, and decides whether an infusion is appropriate and what should be in it. There are no walk-in infusions.
How long does a session take?
Usually 30 to 60 minutes in a chair at the Pantego clinic, depending on the formulation and volume. Plan for a little longer at your first visit because of the consultation.
What are the risks?
Bruising and irritation at the IV site are the common ones. Less common risks include allergic reaction, fluid overload in people with heart or kidney disease, electrolyte disturbance and vein inflammation. High-dose vitamin C is unsafe with G6PD deficiency. Screening for these is exactly what the consultation is for.
Does insurance cover IV nutrient infusions?
Generally no — infusions given for general wellness rather than a diagnosed deficiency are considered elective and are billed as self-pay. HSA and FSA eligibility depends on your plan administrator.
Are infusions available by telehealth or outside DFW?
No. An infusion has to be given in person, so it is available only at the Pantego clinic in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Lyte's telehealth psychiatry and therapy services remain available anywhere in Texas.
Can I get an infusion if I am not a Lyte patient?
The consultation and infusion are provided as part of care at the clinic, so you will be seen as a patient. Call the front desk to ask what that involves for your situation before booking.
